Making School Uniform Shopping Easy
Let’s be honest, shopping for school uniforms can feel like a chore. Between checking dress codes and guessing sizes, it’s a lot to handle. But buying uniforms online doesn't have to be a headache. Whether you are looking for tough pants that can survive recess or soft polos that won't itch, I have a few tips to help you get it right the first time.
Check the Rules and the Measurements
Before you add anything to your cart, double check your school’s dress code for specific colors or styles. Once you know what you need, grab a tape measure. Every brand fits a little differently, so comparing your child's measurements to the size chart is much safer than just going by their age. If they are between sizes, I usually recommend going one size up. Kids grow fast, and a slightly loose fit is always better than something too tight.
Look for Durability
Since kids are hard on their clothes, the fabric matters. Look for cotton-poly blends because they hold up well in the wash and don't wrinkle as easily. For boys, I always suggest pants with reinforced knees. It saves you from having to replace them halfway through the semester.
How Much to Buy?
A good rule of thumb is to have enough for one full week. If you do laundry once a week, aim for five tops and three bottoms. If you wash clothes more often, you can get away with three tops and two bottoms.
